Summary: Sometimes, volunteering can make a person feel guilty. In a column for the Forward’s annual philanthropy section, I write about the mixed feelings I have after participating in my temple’s annual Mitzvah Day, a one-day volunteering event that hundreds of houses of worship do every year.
